How Cinnamon Helped Fight Covid; A Testimony By November
A month ago, my husband and I, November (proprietor of Plantsville), had fever, cough, some sore throat, diarrhea, and loss of sense of smell & taste. I also could not breath deeply. I got scared, of course, considering the current pandemic. Actually, I was more scared of not being able to get a hospital bed, should our condition worsen. Maano na lang kami?! (What would we do?!) We are based in Bacolod City, and being a COVID hotspot, hospital beds are scarce. True to form, I took all possible natural cures: tawa-tawa capsule, virgin coconut oil (VCO), oregano for my cough, Philippine cinnamon & turmeric for my diarrhea, steam inhalation (tuob) and pure Phil stingless bee honey for my throat, and calamansi juice, fruits, and vegetables to strengthen my immunity.
We also took antibiotic medicine, and we went to the garden to the sun for 5-10 minutes every morning. Finally, I just kept on praying and listening to praise music because I was so anxious. This mental health issue is very important. I could have gone over. After a 2-week ordeal, with God’s grace, we are well now.
I’m especially sharing my usual experience with the Philippine cinnamon (kalingag) bark tea. It is not just because Plantsville sells it, but also because it is so effective for us. We took 2 cups of tea per day, and after 1 day, we experienced relief from diarrhea. After the second day, our diarrhea was gone. Drinking kalingag tea or chewing on the kalingag bark is actually an age-old relief for many Filipinos in rural areas, especially of indigenous people. I hope it will be helpful to you, too. #foodismedicine
Be sure to plant your own Philippine cinnamon at home, as part of your container gardening, or in the ground, at home or in the farm, as food and medicine. Message us for the seedlings! #conservation #livelihood #health #local
