Sources Of Information About Philippines Cinnamon
Do you know why it is very difficult to ID the Phil cinnamon species? It is because the leaves of the same plant can vary in shape (heterophylly), and the leaves of new shoots and mature leaves of the same plant can also vary (heteroblasty). It is doubly difficult because we have very few Phil cinnamon trees standing to refer to. Sharing the presentation of Dr. Jay Picardal at the Philippine-American Academy of Science & Engineering (PAASE) online conference last July 21, 2020. Slides 9-12 of 41.
The beauty of all of us planting the Philippine cinnamon at home or in the farm is we all help to save these species, plus we will have more sources of information about what kind of Phil cinnamon we have in possession. Meanwhile, we can have unlimited sources of spice and medicine at home. Our price of the Phil cinnamon seedling remains the same since 2017, despite that costs have all increased. With humility, it’s our commitment to helping conserve the species by making it accessible to many. I hope you could join us in this conservation effort by sharing online or offline whatever info you see of the Phil cinnamon. Or when you can, buy Phil cinnamon products from any seller (not just us). #conservation#livelihood#health
Be sure to plant your own Philippine cinnamon at home, as part of your container gardening, or in the ground, at home or in the farm, as food and medicine. Message us for the seedlings! #conservation #livelihood #health #local
