Visiting The Cinnamon Farmers at Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental

Many thanks to DOST TUPV HIVE for funding the trip and to ever committed team Zapphire, Ramon, Cathy, TUPV Greg Crisostomo, PEMO, Negros Occidental Samuel Maja, and cinnamon farmers for their generosity. It was raining heavily the whole day, so it was very slippery. Buwis-buhay ang pagkuha ng pictures at dahon (taking pictures of the tree leaves was a challenge), but we are excited to know what Philippine cinnamon species we have here in Negros Occidental!

No amount of rain can stop the HIVE Team basta #ParaSaBayan. Today The HIVE Team together with Home Organic PH – Plantsville Health visited the cinnamon farmers at Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental to document the different species of the PH Cinnamomum endemic in the area. The pictures taken will be sent to experts in the field for proper identification. Today’s experience is really one for the books as this effort may result in the inclusion of the images in different publications.#ParaSaBayan#DOSTTUPVHIVE#RoadTo1000Startups

Be sure to plant your own Philippine cinnamon at home, as part of your container gardening, or in the ground, at home or in the farm, as food and medicine. Message us for the seedlings! #conservation #livelihood #health #local
